Top Pianist Performs
August Chronicle, Augusta, GA
October 1, 2007

"The Division of Humanities of Paine College in Augusta will present the critically acclaimed concert pianist Teresa Walters tonight in a program of works by Bach-Busoni, Liszt, Rachmaninoff and Lili Boulanger. The program will take place in Gilbert-Lambuth Chapel on campus at 7 PM. A recent public poll ranked Teresa Walters as one of the top five American pianists.

Tonight's concert represents the globetrotting pianist's second Georgia performance in recent weeks. Walters earlier performed a special September 11 Memorial Concert for former President Jimmy Carter's alma mater at Georgia Southwestern University. That institution is the academic home of Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter, who support the Chamber Concert Series as donors.

During the past decade, Teresa Walters has earned increasing renown for her international performing career and has amassed enviable reviews from almost every country in the world. The American Record Guide writes: "Her competition is virtually nil." In addition to her solo and orchestral appearances across North America this season, she will return to South America and to Europe and is scheduled for debut recitals in Greece and Sicily.

With the release of her latest CD, the Budapest Sun wrote: "Her fingers give off sparks and she takes the keyboard into orbit." A Meet and Greet the Artist reception will follow the concert and Ms. Walters will be available to autograph her award-winning recordings."
