Pianist Teresa Walters will perform a musical tribute during an evening marking the 60th anniversary of Kristallnacht. The event will be held in the Octagon of Mahoney Library in Morristown. A candle-lighting ceremony will follow in memory of the six million Jews who died in the Holocaust. Survivors and children of survivors will be in attendance. Walters will perform "Pensées des Morts" by Franz Liszt, a 19th Century Hungarian composer. The piece, translated as "Reflections on Mortality" or "Reflections on Death" is based on Psalm 130, which begins "Out of the depths have I cried unto Thee, O Lord. Lord, hear my plea." The psalm asks the Lord to answer prayer and to grant redemption.
